Great
hair doesn't just happen. No one knows that better than Melissa Peverini,
one of South Florida's leading color experts and hair designers. Before
the age of 30, Peverini has already logged a decade's worth of work in
the demanding and creative industry of hair design. Peverini, a Palm Beach native, began working in a salon at the age of 15, as a receptionist and sweeping floors. She quickly rose through the ranks and gained recognition for her artistic talent. |
| Currently,
Peverini is the Color Director and top Stylist at Cosmo & Company, downtown
West Palm Beach's premiere full-service salon. She divides her time between
Palm Beach and New York City. This is only a portion of a high-octatane
career that shows no sign of slowing down. As an editorial consultant to Shape, Celebrity Hairstyles, Ocean Drive, the Palm Beach Post, and Teen Magazine, Peverini's work is featured in local, national and international publications that span Vogue to TV Guide. She is a monthly guest on television news and lifestyle programs aired on the local NBC and CBS affiliates and is the Creative Product Consultant and trend reporter for Goody Products, the hair accessory conglomerate whose products dominate in grocery and drug stores throughout the country. In Peverini's home base, Palm Beach, top designers catch the attention of the celebrities that live, winter or work the resort. When Marla Maples was the bi-locational Mrs. Donald Trump, Peverini was called to tend to her tresses. " I knew that was the beginning of my career," Peverini says. Since then, Mr. Trump has requested her services for Access Hollywood featuring his current partner Melania Knauss and is called on regularly from a clientele spanning from rock stars to socialites when their fringes need trimming. The film industry provides another focus for Peverini, who is a specially trained period stylist and revels in the hightened creativity that comes with working on shorts. Adding to a mounting list of credits, Peverini was one of three winners of a nationwide makeover contest sponsored by Wella and Fairchild Publications. As South East Region Winner, Peverini was flown to Rome, Italy, to attend a creative forum for the purpose of furthering her talent and enabling her to bring the best and latest talents to her clients. This brought her to being a Technical Specialist for Wella with market-leader salons. She demonstates product use, knowledge, and trend techniques to her peers. This also enables her to work with top artists in the industry. |
